Ready for accounting before your accountant asks.
Worklyn keeps invoices, transactions, receipts, categories and reconciliation status together as the business runs. See what is complete, fix what is missing and hand off organized records when it is time for accounting.
Worklyn handles pre-accounting. It does not replace your accountant or accounting software.
Month-end should be a review, not a reconstruction.
The invoice is in one place, the payment is in the bank, the receipt is in an inbox and the category still needs checking.
Worklyn keeps those records connected as they happen, so preparing for accounting means reviewing what is left instead of rebuilding the month from scratch.
The work between running the business and doing the accounting.
Pre-accounting is everything that needs to happen before financial records are ready for your accountant or accounting system.
In Worklyn that means transactions categorized, payments reconciled, supporting documents attached and missing information visible before the records leave the workspace.
Check, complete, hand off.
Worklyn does not hide incomplete records in a report you have to remember to run. A missing receipt, an unreconciled payment, an uncategorized transaction or a document still waiting for a match stays visible where the work already happens, and you can ask for the full count whenever you want it.
Filters transactions still missing a receipt, so you can clear them in one pass.
Holds documents that arrived but have not been matched to a transaction yet.
Answers directly when you ask: uncategorized, unreconciled, awaiting a receipt match, overdue invoices.
Once something is flagged, finish it without leaving the record: attach the document, confirm the category, check the tax detail or close the reconciliation.
Attach the receipt or supplier invoice the transaction is waiting for.
Review how income and expenses are classified.
Keep VAT and tax details with the transaction they belong to.
Confirm the payment, invoice or expense record is complete.
When the period is ready, export or sync the records with their categories, documents and reconciliation context already attached.
Xero (beta) · QuickBooks (beta) · CSV / XLSX export, with receipts optional
Documents ride along when you include them in a CSV or XLSX export. Pushing transactions to Xero or QuickBooks sends the categorized transaction and its tax details, not the receipt file.
Categories and tax stay with the record.
A category should not disappear when the transaction leaves Worklyn. Expense categories, tax treatment, VAT amounts and reporting context stay attached, so the handoff starts with structured data.
The accounting record keeps the business context behind it.
A cost does not have to stop at a category. The same record can still know the project, the invoice, the supporting document and the payment behind it.
Client is a field on the record. Project margin, not client margin, is what the cost feeds.
Give your accountant a head start.
Share the period or export it, without your accountant needing to ask what each bank line was for first.
Invite an accountant with a role scoped to the job: full access to invoices, transactions, reports and the inbox, view-only banking and clients, and no project, member or billing access.
Share a single report chart as a frozen, no-login link. It shows the numbers at the moment you shared it, not a live view of the workspace.
Send a CSV or XLSX export by email, optionally with matched receipts bundled in, or push categorized transactions straight to Xero or QuickBooks.
Accounting prep happens while the business runs.
New transactions, invoice payments, receipts and project costs arrive throughout the month. Because they already share one workspace, the pre-accounting picture updates with them.
CFO Mode can tell you what is still unfinished.
Because CFO Mode reads the same financial records, you can ask about the state of the period instead of opening every item yourself.
- 01“What is keeping July from being ready?”
- 02“Which expenses are still missing receipts?”
- 03“What still needs review before I export?”
This works on every plan. Books-readiness counts sit outside Worklyn's paid CFO insight tools, the same as asking about your transactions or invoices directly.
The records are prepared before they get here.
Where every transaction gets categorized, matched and reconciled.
Inbox & receipt matchingWhere receipts and documents arrive and get matched to a transaction.
The review layer where what came out of transactions and the inbox gets checked, completed and handed off.
Financial access stays controlled.
Role-based access covers financial records and accountant workflows, bank connections stay read-only, and exported data is yours.
Pre-accounting questions, answered.
Pre-accounting is everything that needs to happen before financial records are ready for your accountant or accounting system: transactions categorized, payments reconciled, supporting documents attached and missing information visible before the records leave the workspace.
No. Worklyn does not replace your general ledger, tax filing or accountant. It keeps invoices, transactions, receipts, categories and reconciliation status organized so the handoff to accounting is a review, not a reconstruction.
No. Worklyn prepares the records. Your accountant still handles the accounting, tax filing and advice.
There is no separate readiness screen. Check the transactions review tab for anything still missing a receipt, check the inbox for documents that have not been matched, or ask CFO Mode directly and it will tell you how many transactions are unreconciled or uncategorized, how many documents are still unmatched, and whether any invoices are overdue for that period.
Yes, to Xero and QuickBooks, both currently in beta. You can also export transactions as a CSV or XLSX file. Country-specific formats such as DATEV, FEC, SAF-T and SIE, and Fortnox, are not available yet.
Only in the CSV or XLSX transactions export, where including matched receipts is an option that bundles them into the download. Pushing transactions to Xero or QuickBooks sends the categorized transaction and its tax details, not the receipt file itself.

Ready for accounting, without the month-end cleanup.
Keep the records complete as the business runs, then hand them off when they are ready.
